Geetings Mr. Dorfman.. I normally do not send emails about products I buy but I read about your book in a trading blog.... Honestly the review wasnt that great but then they said "it may be one of the best trading book ever written"... I was like well that doesnt make sense..... but it intrigued me... so I bought it...They were right....Your book may not be the best written book as far as perfect English goes..BUT your behind the scenes info about how the markets really work and then seeing Bernie Madoff get arrested opened my eyes. The author, Dorfman,  tells his story albeit briefly, about how he went from a single mom home in Cranston, Rhode Island to meeting JFK JR. in a restaurant which he (the author) worked as a teenager, and how that encounter took him  to Brown University (where JFK Jr. also attended) and eventually to a little known hedge fund in NYC then to Costa Rica.

 

Over the years Dorfman and others questioned how many of the big firms always out produced their funds. He soon found out many truths about how Wall Street really worked and he set out to learn more about these unfair advantages....

 

PUB NOTE...Wall Street pundits have since praised Dorfman for questioning how top investment bank Goldman Sachs is always on top of their game generating billions in profits when other big firms were failing miserably but were using the same trading software and techniques long before their recent scandals have come to light (very prophetic) .....

Additionally, Dorfman exposes some interesting info as to how the Bush family (and other key politicos) profited on both the Enron debacle as well as another little known oil company, Harken Energy, (controlled by Bush Sr.), and how their illegal? trading profits made in that company were funneled to Bush Jr. and used to buy into the Texas Rangers baseball team.

 

This information leak purportedly angered many in the Bush administration and now with the release of the hardcover edition, will probably unleash their anger once again.

The good news for Mr. Dorfman is that they are no longer in power to take any kind of action against him.

 

Dorfman then uses the second half of the book as a training manual to teach aspiring traders some easy to learn trading strategies complete with charts and graphs, which he claims will increase an investors' profits by 10-100% a year, whether they are trading stocks, futures, or forex.

 

He then oddly concludes the book with some outrageous thoughts about love and romance, and how important it is to share your success with your mate ....and even gives dating tips.....huh?????????????

 

All in all, this book is no classic tale, but it is not meant to be... At best, it is fairly written yet amusing and enjoyable as far as the autobiography part goes because it does have a "Rocky" like theme to it. It was more than likely written strictly for the investor/trader crowd who probably appreciates it more than we did...

 

BUT... the facts, theories, and trading strategies revealed here are indeed intriguing to say the least....so it is probably a must read for investors, traders, or anyone else who is interested in learning how Wall Street really works, who the key players are, and how to consistently make money in the markets..
